The aim of the learning stratage 1) The students can graspe the reading skills such as scanning and skimming 2) The students can develop the ability of guessing the meaning of the new words through the passage. 3. The aim of emotion and attitude 1) The students are able to develop a caution to some dangerous situations 2) The students are able to learn to help those who are in danger.

(Step1: Warm up. 1) Free talk T: it is raining these days. Do you like raining days? Ss: No. It is wet everywhere. T: Yes, I don’t like rainy days either. In summer it may cause flood. It is very dangerous. Do you know any other dangers? You can say in Chinese. Ss: Typhoon. Earthquake. Fire.and so on T: Let’s play a game and guess what danger it is. 2)Danger Three. Show three words, three sentenses , three body gestures to the students. The students guess what can he think of? T: Look at these three body gestures( 教师作动作:捂鼻子, 咳嗽, 下蹲逃跑。) Ss:Earthquake , Fire. T: Look at these three words: smoke, towel, water) Ss: it’s fire. T: Yes. You’re right. T: If the fire happens, what will you do? S1: run away. S2: call 119. ( This task will arouse the students interest. And the students will have some background information for the topic.) T: today we are going to read a story about a man in a fire. Let’s see what he did. Step2: presentation. 1.imagine and ask T: Do you have any questions about the man and the fire? You can put up your questions. S1: Who is the man? S2: How old is he? S3: What’s his job? S4:What did he do? S5: When did the fire happen? (This task will develop the students imagination for the whole story. They are ready to learn it.) 2. listen and answer T: You have so many questions. Let’s listen to the tape and answer the two questions: Who is in the story? Lin Tao. Who’s in the fire? Mrs Sun ( The students will listen carefully with the questions.) 3.Read and think Show the whole passage to the students without give him the key word : brave. After the students read the passage, teacher asks the students what word it is to describe Lin Tao. S1: great. S2: helpful. S3: brave. … (This will develop the students ability of generalization. They have so many words to describe Lin Tao.) T: Yes, Lin Tao is a brave young man. What did he do? S1: He saved his neighbour from a fire.
4. read and find T:Why did his neighbour need help? Her left leg wos badly hurt and she coud not get out. 5.Read and unde line Read the paragraph3 and underline Lin Tao’s action. (through this task, the students have a clear idea of how Lin Tao saved his neighbour. And the mind map will make the story easier to understand.) 6. Task6: Read and judge( ) 1.The fire burnt his arms and legs.( ) 2.He stayed in hospital for two weeks.( ) 3.People all said he was brave.( ) 4.Lin Tao wasn't afraid at that moment.( ) 5. We should be careful with fire.( This task makes the students hnow the detail of the ending of the story.) 7.Task 7 Retell the story according to the mind map. (By retelling the story, the students develop a logical mind with the help of the mind map.) Step3. Consolidation. 1. finish the conversation between Lin Tao and the reporter. (this task change the story into a dialogue, it helps the students understand it better.) 2. Act the dialogue out in pairs. (It will improve the students ability of speaking) 3. think what we can learn from Lin Tao. (It is very important for the students to know that fire is dangerous. They are too little to fight against the fire.) Step4.Homework. 1. Read the story after class and try to retell it to your classmates or parents. 2. Wrie a short passage about Lin Tao. (Homework helps the students extend their learning after class.)

这堂客在设计的时候,教授新词时多采用chant的创编,将生词插入其中,在学生优美的诵读过程中学习新单词。而且,整堂课在朗读指导上也花了较重的笔墨,六年级的学生尤其要注重英语朗读的指导,在重读,停顿和语调方面加强训练。
