Unit 8 At Christmas 第二课时教学设计 (Cartoon time, Song time & Fun time)
一、教学目标
1. 能听懂、会说、会读词汇: us, him, song, us, him, card,what’s wrong with… Merry Christmas!
2. 能在语境中正确使用关联词First, next, then, finally来叙述圣诞节的活动。
3. 能正确理解cartoon time 内容,用正确的语音语调朗读并做创新表演。
4. 文化教育:能让学生在课本基础上感受更多课外的圣诞节文化,培养学生跨文化意识。
5. 情感教育:动物是我们的朋友,要与它们分享快乐。
二、教学重点
1. 能正确理解cartoon time 内容,用正确的语音语调朗读并做创新表演。
2. 能让学生在课本基础上感受更多的圣诞节文化,培养学生跨文化意识。

学生能结合书本知识和课外的文化知识来谈论圣诞节。

五、教学过程
Step 1: Warm-up
T: Today I’m your new teacher. You can call me Miss Yang. This is our first meeting, and I have a gift for you. It is a chant. Please listen!
A chant for you
Come on, guys
Here we go,
Ready for the English class.
I hope you can:
Speak more,
Think more,
Memorize more,
And listen more.
Super kids are all of you!
T: This is a magic chant. It’s about the class rules (PPT显示中文:多说,多思考,多记,多听). And look! It’s also an acrostic poem! C-H-R-I-S-T-M-A-S! Yes! Christmas! That is what we are going to talk about.
Step 2: Presentation 1
1. Christmas impression (review the words in story time)
T: Do you like Christmas? What do you know about Christmas? Can you say something about it?
Ss: Brain storming the words about Christmas: Father Christmas, Christmas tree, presents, stoking, turkey…
2. Christmas activities
T: With these Christmas elements, people often have a good time at Christmas. Here’s some pictures of Mike’s family at Christmas .What do they do? Can you try to retell it? Try to do it in groups of four.
All: They have a lot of fun at Christmas.
S1: First, they buy presents and a Christmas tree. They also go to see Father Christmas.
S2: Next, they put pretty things on the Christmas tree.
S3: Then, Christmas Eve come. They wait for presents.
S4: Finally, it’s Christmas day. They have a big lunch.
3. Christmas culture
(1) T:We can put pretty things on the Christmas tree. What can we put? Teach: candy cane, star, ribbon, bell
(2) T: People go to see Father Christmas. Do you know how he comes? Teach:reindeer
(3) T shows some pictures about Christmas customs which are not mentioned in the textbook.
Step 3: Presentation 2 (Cartoon time)
1. T: People always have a lot of fun at Christmas. How about the animals? Look at the picture( PPT出示cartoon time的第一幅图片) Who are they? What are they doing? Oh, they’re singing Christmas songs.
Teach: song, Christmas songs
T: Let’s sing the song together. Song time “We wish you a Merry Christmas”
(1) Teach: Merry Christmas
(2) Sing the song together
2. Watch and answer
T: “Merry” means happy. But is every animal happy at Christmas? Who are happy? Who is sad? 播放cartoon
Ss: Sam, Bobby, and their friends are happy. The turkey is sad.
T: If you see Mr. Turkey, what will you say? Teach: him, what’s wrong with him?
3. Read and underline
(1) T: Do they like Christmas? Can you find the reasons?
(2) Culture tips about turkey.
4. Read and imitate
5. Act the story in groups (Sam, Bobby, Mr. Turkey, the narrator)
Step 4: Consolidation (Fun time)
1. T: Mr. Turkey is sad. Can you help him? Do you have any good ideas to make him happy?
Ss: sing a song for him, buy presents for him, eat dinner with him…
T: So kind are you! Maybe we can make a Christmas card for him, right? Teach:
Ss: yes!
2. T: Let me show you how to make it.
(1) First, fold a card.
(2) Next, draw a picture. (因为上课时间有限,可以让学生在课前画好图片)
Look, I drew a Christmas here. What did you draw?
Ss: snowmen, reindeer, stars, jingle bells…
(3) Then, stick your pictures to your cards.
(4) Finally, write your message and your name. What’s your message? Teach: message
Try to be creative. If you don’t know how to say it in English, ask Miss Yang for help.
3. T: Beautiful cards! Warm words! I think Mr. Turkey will be very impressed. Animals are our friends, we should share happiness with them.
Step 5: Homework
1. Read cartoon time and act it out.
2. Make a Christmas plan.
3. Learn more about western holidays.
