一、教学目标
(一)知识目标
1. 掌握核心词汇:e-book、mobile phone、email、envelope、mailbox、housework、dish 等,理解并能正确认读、运用。
2. 熟练运用句型:“Could/Couldn’t + 动词原形”(表达过去的能力)、“Can + 动词原形”(表达现在的能力)、“...ago, sb. used to do.../ Now, sb. can do...”(对比过去与现在的行为)。
3. 读懂关于 Mike 一家生活变化的短文,能梳理出不同人物(Mike、Mr Brown 等)在不同维度(能力、通讯、阅读、日常生活)的变化细节。
(二)能力目标
1. 能通过快速阅读、精读等方式,获取短文主旨和细节信息,完成匹配、填空等任务。
2. 能运用所学句型和词汇,口头描述个人、他人及身边的 “过去与现在” 变化,提升口语表达和逻辑组织能力。
3. 能通过小组合作探究,分析 Mike 爷爷、妈妈的变化,培养合作学习和自主探究能力;能根据图片或板书复述故事,锻炼语言输出能力。
(三)情感目标
1. 感受个人成长、家庭生活及城市发展的变化,体会科技进步带来的便利,增强对家乡和国家发展的自豪感。
2. 辩证看待变化的两面性,认识到电子产品使用的利弊,养成健康、合理使用电子产品的习惯,培养理性看待事物的思维。
3. 乐于分享自己的生活变化和观点,激发英语表达的兴趣,增强沟通自信。
二、教学重难点
(一)教学重点
1. 掌握并灵活运用 “Could/Couldn’t”“Can”“used to.../ Now...” 等核心句型,准确对比表达过去与现在的能力、行为差异。
2. 梳理短文脉络,明确 Mike 一家在能力、通讯方式、阅读习惯等方面的具体变化,读懂并理解故事主旨。
(二)教学难点
1. 准确区分 “Could”(过去能力)与 “Can”(现在能力)的用法,避免句型混淆;正确运用 “used to do” 描述过去的习惯性行为。
2. 辩证分析变化的利弊(如电子产品的便利与过度使用的影响),并用英语清晰、连贯地表达自己的观点。
3. 结合板书和图片,有条理地复述故事,确保信息完整、逻辑清晰。

Step1:Warm up

6. Learn in details
T: So 6 years ago, Mike could read and draw, but he couldn’t write. Now he can do many things. What can he do? He can play football well/ help his parents do the housework / wash the dishes...
T: How about Mr Green. 20 years ago, he wrote letters. Have you ever written letters? We write the letters and put it into the envelope and then put it into the mailbox. It really takes us some time to send it to our friends. But now, Mr Brown can write emails, it only takes us a few seconds to send it to our friends.
T: 20 years ago, Mr Brown used the telephone to call people. Do you have a telephone at home now? Now he has a mobile phone. So he can call people anywhere. What does it mean?
T: You know, the mobile phone has changed a lot too. At first, it was very big and heavy, then it became much smaller and lighter. And now, we have iphone and Huawei. So do you have a mobile phone? What do you do with your mobile phone?
S: I have a mobile phone. I can learn English on it. / I can listen to the music with it. / I can play games on it.
7. Learn in groups
T:This time, I want to know the changes of Mike’s grandpa and his mother. We can learn in groups. Are you ready? Go!

T: E-books or paper books, which do you prefer? And why?
S: I like reading e-books, because it is very convenient. We can read it anywhere.

S: I usually talk about my school life with her./ I am not good at English, so she often teaches me English on the Wechat.

T: From this video, we know our city has changed a lot. In fact, every city has changed a lot. So that China has changed. Because of the changes, China now is becoming more and more powerful. But I have some pictures here, they are also about then and now. What do you think?
T: In the past,we sat together with our grandparents and had a big dinner. We talked and laughed. But now, we always watch and play the phone.
In the past, we played games with our friends, but now, we always stay at home and play games on the mobile phone.
In the past, we watched TV with our family. But now, maybe ,we just play on the phone by ourselves. In the past, most of us do not need to wear glasses, but now, most of us wear glasses.
T: So every coin has two sides. Changes are always here, good or not, it’s up to you. So we should be wise.
